Mid Devon Hire Boats & Moorings
is a small family concern, run by Ray & Pat Brind with their dog Jessie.

Having been associated with the inland waterways and horses over the last 35 years, in 1986 we moved to Devon to start working on the beautiful Grand Western Canal Country Park and Local Nature Reserve. Here we operated Horse-Drawn Barge trips along the Canal, giving many thousands of visitors to Devon, the unusual and unique experience of peaceful transport from a bye-gone era.

As our son has taken over the Horse-Boating business, this has enabled us to provide a luxury narrowboat for hire during the summer months, together with peaceful country moorings from our home based at East Manley Bridge, just 2 miles to the East of Tiverton, which is set in idyllic, and beautiful country, with open views across the valley to the Blackdown Hills.
